Solar cell technology progress has been rapid over the recent decades, and high cell efficiency approaches like heterojunction (HJT) silicon wafer solar cells are leading the trend to achieve both the cell efficiency and cost effectiveness targets towards the PV technology roadmap. This book provides insights into the pros and cons of HJT silicon wafer solar cell technology, followed by detailed experimental and simulation studies to propose novel ways to address the limitations. Three key research areas were investigated to address the most pertinent issues: parasitic absorption losses, electrical resistance losses, and recombination losses. Autorenportrait

Zhi Peng LING received the B.Eng. and Ph.D. degree from the National University of Singapore in 2006 and 2014 respectively. The work in this book is conducted in the Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore. His research interests include high efficiency silicon photovoltaic solar cells, spanning experimental and simulation aspects
